The Brother CS6001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is the sewing machine you have always wanted to have. It is a perfective example of how far sewing machines have come since the treadle machine. It has the comfortableness of entirely computerized sewing, automatic needle threading, push-button sewing, and 60 fun stitches to show your creativity. Two hundred years ago persons were unable to buy carefully-stitched quality clothes until the advent of the mechanical sewing machine. Manufacturers could then begin to fabricate a great amount of quality clothes at little cost. Fast forward to 2010, and now we have the computerized Brother machine with seven buttonhole styles, and an LCD screen which displays settings for home use, much to the delight of home sewers. Something that applied to be labor-intensive and time-consuming may now be done speedily and easily. There are hundreds of glowing client reviews for this machine.

The features of this machine are outstanding. You may chose the stitches from an LCD display, and it includes stitches for mending, garment construction, quilting, heirloom stitching, ornamental stitching, and seven styles of one-step auto-sizing buttonholes. For example, you may make keyhole or eyelet buttonholes. It also has built-in super-wide 7MM zigzag ornamental stitches, a one-step drop in bobbin, and an oversized accessory table for huge projects and quilting. It is portable and lightweight, and comes with a cover to protect it when not in use.

The very helpful manual is in both English and Spanish. It has electronic speed control so you may chose the perfective speed for you. One satisfied client said, “It comes with each foot and accessory you could perhaps need.” The quilting feet include a walking foot for precise stitching of slippery fabrics or multiple layers, as well as a quilt guide for precise, evenly-spaced quilt lines. I didn’t learn to sew until later years, but with this computerized Brother machine I could without apparent effort and speedily sew items for my whole home, as well as clothes for myself or my family. I recognise I may do this for a long time; it has a 25 year fixed warranty. The dimensions are 16 x 6.7 x11.4 inches. I may operate it either with or without the foot control, using the start/stop and reverse functions with one button. Accessories are likewise included for inserting zippers, darning, twin-needle stitching, plus a quick-change snap-on pressure foot that includes a buttonhole foot, a zipper foot, button-fitting foot, blind-stitch foot, overcasting foot, monogramming foot, zig zag foot, walking foot, and a quilt guide. If I want to sew on the kitchen table, it is easy to carry around. I may modify the width and length of a stitch easily. The bobbin winds easily, and the machine is easy to thread even for a novice like me. The needle positions are variable, and there is built-in storage space.

The machine has an adaptable dial control for perfective thread tension. It also has a drop feed so you may manufacture established or free form quilt patterns. Some of the other sewing machine makers require you to buy all sorts of extras in order to have a pleasant sewing experience, and this is not unfeigned with the Brother. With all it is wondrous features, I feel that the Brother CS60001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is an unbelievable value for an lowpriced price.

5perfect 1/4″ seams; check your needle position!
By Kristine Smith
This foot helps you to create perfect 1/4 inch seams easily & quickly.
As another reviewer noted, it is important to check your needle
position after attaching this foot to your machine. The hole that
the needle passes through is small, and if your needle is not in the
correct position it will hit the foot and break.I have a
Brother CS 6000 and the default needle position is to the left,
instead of in the center. So, BEFORE you begin sewing with
this foot, you have to position your needle to the center. It is important
to remember this if you have been sewing with this foot, but turn the
machine off, because when you turn the machine on again the needle positon
will automatically revert to the left, and you will have to reset it to the
center before you begin sewing again.
If you cannot tell by eye if the needle is aligned with the hole in the foot
use the handwheel to gently lower the needle above the hole. This way you
will be able to see if it is aligned without breaking the needle.
This is a great price for this foot, as well.

3functional but frustrating
By E. Gregory
I have a brother pacesetter pc-2800. The foot fits fine and has helped me make a quarter inch seam. The only real problem I have is that there’s only one hole for the needle and the default position for the needle on my machine isn’t lined up with the hole. I have broken a zillion needles on this foot :-(
