Excellent Paper/Photo Cutter-Trimmer

This is a great cutter/trimmer. It’s lightweight, portable, and very accurate in its cuts. You simply release the lock on top, open the cutter flap, insert your paper/picture, close the cutter flap, lock it back up (this feature is used to hold the paper/picture in place so that you don’t have to use your fingers and get smudge marks on your work) then you use the built in alignment guide (its a very fine piece of metal wire) to precisely set your cutting line, when you are ready, simply move the cutter blade up and you are done, a perfect cut. Even If you make a mistake and you want to fix your work, simply replace your paper/picture back into the unit and cut again. The blade is very sharp, I was able to fix a few of my “BAD” cut’s back to perfection. I highly recommend this product.

Wonderful trimmer except for ONE issue…

I purchased this trimmer and used it heavily for 3 months. I love all the features it has that make it a very precise trimmer- the fold-out arm ruler, and the locking device on the cutting arm that holds the paper down while cutting. However, after three months of use the wire guide in the cutting arm that the cutting blade runs along started to fray. It is almost completely cut through in one spot and I can no longer make accurate cuts. I tried finding a replacement wire online without success, but I did read another review from someone who encountered the same problem with the same trimmer. Per this reviewer’s description, I contacted Fiskar’s customer service. They are sending me a new trimmer for free, so we will see how the next one holds up…

Great Cutter BUT…………

I purchased this cutter in early September from Joann Fabrics and basically LOVE the way it cuts EXCEPT my blade knicked the wire guide and it is fraying making it hard to cut accurately. I emailed Fiskars with the problem since they warrent all their products and received an email saying they would be in touch with me with in 4-5 days. Well on Saturday I received a rotary cutter in the mail from them. No the same thing. I have written them again with the name and model information again (did this the first time) so will see what happens now.
I would like to be able to replace the wire but they say it can not be replaced.
